Climbing Mt. Bandai
Mount Bandai, which stands 1,816 meters above sea level, is also known as "Aizu Fuji" and is the symbol of Fukushima Prefecture.
The spectacular views of the lakes and marshes at the foot of the mountain and the fact that it can be climbed in a day make it a popular destination with many climbers throughout the season.
For those climbing Mt. Bandai for the first time or those new to mountain climbing, we recommend the Happodai trailhead, which has a small elevation difference and is easy to climb to the summit.

A motorboat will take you to and from the campsite across Lake Hibara. Beginners can also enjoy a walk on the water, or ride a SUP across the water's surface. You can also dive into Lake Hibara using a Tarzan rope! This is the perfect summer water activity.

This is a kayaking experience plan, a classic summer outdoor sport. The experience takes place on the small Sohara Lake, which has a circumference of about 4km and offers a view of the majestic Mount Bandai. With little wind, it is a safe place for beginners and families to try kayaking for the first time.

- In the Tohoku region of Japan, cows are called "beko."
About 400 years ago, in 1611, a major earthquake struck the Aizu region, destroying the Kokuzodo Hall, as well as monks' quarters and private homes, and causing great damage to Yanaizu Town.
The current Kokuzodo (Main Hall) was first built in 1617 after the earthquake, but when they were having a hard time transporting the large timbers to Genjo for the reconstruction of the Main Hall, perhaps through the guidance of Buddha, a herd of strong-looking red-haired cows appeared out of nowhere and helped the black-haired cows that were struggling to transport the timbers, and they were able to successfully build the Kokuzodo (Main Hall).
The red-haired cow that helped so hard was called "Akabeko," and it has come to be loved by many people as an "Akabeko" that conveys patience and strength and also brings good fortune.
After that, when an epidemic broke out in the Aizu region, people who carried Akabeko dolls were protected from the disease, and Akabeko became famous as a lucky charm that could ward off misfortune and grant wishes.
