Cherry Blossom Tour of Fukushima
Fukushima Prefecture is known for having many famous cherry trees, including the Miharu Takizakura, one of Japan's three greatest cherry trees.
The Aizu region is at a high altitude, so the cherry blossoms bloom a little later than in other parts of the prefecture, around mid-April. There are many famous cherry blossom viewing spots, including the cherry blossoms at Tsurugajo Castle, which has been selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots, and the Aizu Five Cherry Blossoms, including the Ishibe Cherry Tree, which became famous for its double blossoms.
After that, in Inawashiro, the cherry blossoms along the Kannonji River will be in full bloom a little later, in mid-April. Then, in May, you can enjoy the cherry blossoms at Sakura Pass in Ura-Urabandai of snow-covered mountains.
